Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream primary school in Teddington and they are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to commit to a full time-long term role. The ideal candidate will need experience working with young people, specifically children with Special Educational Needs.
Duties:
- Provide support and assistance to individuals with special need, including children with autism
- Asist in implementing individualized education plans and behaviour intervention plans
- Support individuals in developing and improving their communication skills
- Help create a safe environment for all individuals
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the well-being and progress of each individual
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or autism
- Knowledge of special education principles or practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with individuals with special needs
