Ortus Recruitment are working with a fantastic mainstream primary school located in East Twickenham and they are recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant who is ready to commit to a full time-long term role. The candidate applying for should have experience working with SEN and be able to deal with challenging behaviour in a calm manner.

The role:

• Position: Learning Support Assistant
• Location: East Twickenham
• Full time – long term
• Immediate start
• PAYE £80-£90
• Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 or in small groups of students who have learning difficulties
• Safeguarding children by following health and safety guidelines
• Providing emotional support for students at break and lunch
• Liaising with teachers and parents, giving feedback on the students progression
• Helping the class teacher prepare for lessons and tidying away equipment once the lesson has finished.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Passion for caring and aiding children in their academic studies
• A fully enhanced DBS which is on the update service or willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment
• More than a years’ experience working with children in a professional setting, specifically SEN
