The role:

• Position: Learning Support Mentor
• Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE
• Location: Lewisham, Lee
• Role: Full time, Long term

ORTUS RECRUITMENT are currently working with a vibrant Mainstream Primary School located in the heart of Lewisham, Lee. The school itself was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted on consecutive occasions. The school prides itself on the positive working environment amongst staff and students with the staff team being welcoming to new candidates. The school is located close to popular train stations and has excellent bus links so commuting from other boroughs is fairly easy.

Main responsibilities:

• Working alongside the class teacher supporting a year 5 class with high academic potential
• Supporting pupils with a range of activities and tasks to help them develop emotional and social skills.
• Undertaking administrative tasks for the class teacher such as assisting with marking work/homework and photocopying and laminating work.
• Being comfortable working 1:1 and in small groups to help maintain current attainment levels
• Supervising pupils in class and around the school building (Lunch hall and playground)

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a school setting supporting pupils with their work and daily activities. The ideal candidate will also have a strong academic background in core subjects (English, Math, Reading and Science). A clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS is required in order to apply for this role, or you must be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment (£52).
