Ortus recruitment is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our reputable partner mainstream primary school based in the Balham area. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and supporting students in their learning journey. This position will be a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 4pm) if you are successful on your trial. This role will require a candidate that is available to start immediately.
Responsibilities:
– Assist the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students.
– Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs, ensuring their inclusion and progress within the classroom.
– Collaborate with the teaching staff to plan and implement effective strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
– Support students in their personal, social, and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
– Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources, ensuring they are tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
– Monitor student progress and provide feedback to both students and teachers, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
– Promote positive behaviour management techniques, encouraging students to take responsibility for
Requirements:
– Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
– Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting is desirable but not essential.
– Knowledge of relevant educational policies and procedures.
– Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with students, teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.
– Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
– A proactive approach to professional development, keeping up-to-date with current educational practices and trends.
– A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
