Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs (SEN) and learning difficulties.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting learning materials to meet diverse needs.
  • Support classroom teachers in creating accessible and engaging lessons.
  • Help students develop social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress, and communicate findings to teachers and parents.
  • Conduct small group or one-on-one interventions to reinforce learning.
  • Promote an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages respect and equality.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Person Specification:

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEN are advantageous but not essential.
  • A good standard of education, with GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above.
