Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking someone who has a Mathematics relevant qualification to join one of our thriving Mainstream Primary Schools. They are seeking someone who can join and support across KS2, providing additional support to pupils who need assistance in Math. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’, there is an amazing working relationship amongst staff, with staff wellbeing being one of the top priorities.

Within this role, the successful candidate will be required to liaise with Class Teachers across KS2 to identify learners who need additional support, then working with them to create differentiated work to support the individual learners needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading 1:1 and small group Math interventions with learners in the library, providing them with the necessary support to raise their academic attainment. You will be tasked with providing feedback on pupil’s academic and behavioural progress to Class Teachers and Parents/Carers. Administrative duties will also fall under your responsibility, marking the classwork and homework of the pupils you work with.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with children, ideally in a school setting but virtual or one to one tutoring is also welcome
• Have a Mathematics relevant qualification or degree
• Be confident about working 1:1 and in small groups, leading interventions
• Be passionate about working with children and young people, as well as being dedicated to helping them develop academically
• Have a kind and nurturing nature
• Will be able to easily build a good rapport with pupils and staff
• Will have TWO obtainable childcare relevant references
• Will have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

The Job Information:

• Position: Math Teaching Assistant – Intervention Lead
• Pay: £90 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden Agency/Umbrella company fees
• Location: Lewisham, Bellingham
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)
