Ortus Recruitment are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our partnered primary school in the Lambeth Borough. The school is based near Elephant and Castle, which has excellent transportation links. The school is a specialist SEN school and this position requires a candidate who is experienced working with ASC or a candidate who has genuine passion for working with children, who is looking for the opportunity to broaden their experience in the field of education and childcare.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teacher and SLT to support the pupils learning and development in mathematics. This is a full-time position with hours Monday-Friday during term-time (08:30am – 16:00pm).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and effective math lessons
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils as needed
• Prepare and organize learning materials and resources
• Monitor pupils’ progress and provide feedback to teachers
• Collaborate with other teaching assistants and staff to provide a positive learning environment for pupils

Qualifications and Experience:

• A degree in mathematics or related field
• Strong understanding of mathematics curriculum
• Experience working with primary school-aged pupils or similar
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Must be able to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check
