Morden – Teaching Assistant – PAYE
A 3-form, mainstream Primary School situated around Morden is searching for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team after the October Halfterm to support a KS2 student with additional needs on a 1-1 basis.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for providing any physical, emotional or academic support to the student and encouraging engagement with the curriculum. You will need to be a nurturing and patient person!
The School would like candidates with previous childcare experience – those with backgrounds in youth work, sports coaching or music/drama tutoring are encouraged to apply. Classroom-based experience would be a plus also.
Those who come from a graduate background will be considered also as you will be able to support the student across the whole curriculum, especially within Maths, Science and English.
The position is full-time, working from 8.30am to 4.00pm from Monday to Friday. The School is looking for the right candidate to interview or trial as soon as possible with a view to working until the end of the academic year (July 2021). The School have expressed an interest in finding the perfect candidate now, so once the new academic year has ended the candidate can transition onto the School’s permanent contract from September 2021 onwards.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one asap)
- Previous experience working with children with behavioural or learning difficulties
- At least 6 months experience working with children
- Available for full-time work immediately
- Degree background (highly desirable)
- SEN Teaching Assistant qualifications (highly desirable)
