A welcoming and inclusive special school in Purley is seeking a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join their team and work with children with complex needs.

The Role:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will help create a safe and engaging environment, ensuring that each pupil’s individual needs are met through personalised care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care support, including feeding and hygiene assistance, for pupils with PMLD.
• Assist in delivering sensory-based activities and therapy sessions tailored to individual learning plans.
• Operate and maintain specialist equipment, such as hoists and communication aids (training provided).
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress and well-being.
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging engagement and enjoyment in learning.

About You:

• Experience working with pupils with complex needs, including PMLD.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting pupils’ overall well-being.
• Willingness to undertake personal care responsibilities.
• Familiarity with sensory strategies and therapeutic interventions is an advantage.
