Ortus Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded primary school in the London Borough of Wandsworth to recruit multiple enthusiastic and motivated Primary Classroom Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers who are eager to inspire young learners and contribute to their academic and social development.

As a Primary Classroom Assistant, you will be supporting students across EYFS, KS1 or KS2. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced teachers and staff, providing support in small group or 1:1 sessions, particularly in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Phonics. You will also be involved in tailoring the curriculum to meet the needs of students with additional needs such as ADHD, Autism, Speech and Language difficulties, and Dyslexia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Assist with individual or group interventions for core subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Phonics.
• Support the development of students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties.
• Work closely with teachers to implement differentiated learning strategies.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor and track the progress of pupils, offering feedback to the teaching team.

Job Details:

• Primary Classroom Assistant
• Long-term, Full-Time Contract
• £89 – £105 per day PAYE (Term-time only, no umbrella companies/hidden deductions)
• London Borough of Wandsworth

Ideal Candidate:

• A strong academic background with a passion for working with children.
• Previous experience supporting children in an educational setting is desirable, but not essential.
• Ability to engage and support students with diverse learning needs, particularly SEN.
• A proactive, adaptable, and confident individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.
• Good understanding of the primary curriculum, with a focus on literacy and numeracy.
