π· Salary: Β£89 β Β£105 per day (depending on experience)

Ortus Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join one of our welcoming partner primary schools in the London Borough of Southwark. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting childrenβs learning and development in a classroom setting β especially those who may need additional help.
πΉ Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher and leadership team with day-to-day classroom activities and pupil engagement
- Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support, particularly to children with SEN or additional learning needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment for all pupils
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and encourage participation in class and group activities
- Support childrenβs academic, emotional, and social development through active encouragement and praise
- Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents
- Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and engagement when required
- Help manage classroom behaviour and contribute to the creation of a calm, productive atmosphere
β Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children in a school or similar environment
- Confidence supporting children with SEN, either in 1:1 or group settings (preferred)
- A warm, empathetic, and patient personality, with a strong commitment to helping children thrive
- Good communication skills and ability to build positive rapport with both children and adults
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
- Relevant qualifications or a strong interest in education and/or child development are welcomed
