Ortus Recruitment is excited to present an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant and inclusive school community in the Norwood area. This role is perfect for someone with experience supporting children with neurodiverse needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and a commitment to helping them succeed in a mainstream educational environment.

The Role:

As a 1:1 LSA, you will work directly with individual students, providing tailored support both within the classroom and in a quiet, dedicated learning space. You will help these children access the curriculum and develop their learning in a way that suits their needs. This role will initially involve working closely with students in a 1:1 setting, with the additional responsibility of supervising pupils during lunchtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils in the classroom and quiet learning areas.
• Support students in accessing a mainstream curriculum and fostering independence.
• Help create a positive and inclusive environment for all learners.
• Assist with lunchtime supervision.

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified to at least NVQ level 2, NNEB, or equivalent (or have substantial relevant experience).
• Experienced in supporting neurodiverse children, particularly those with ASC.
• Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to making a difference in children’s lives.
