Primary School Teaching Assistant (September 2024)

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support the academic and social development of students, ensuring a positive and effective learning experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Help to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support the management of classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials and resources.
  • Participate in school events, trips, and extra-curricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) where necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting is essential.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of child development and educational best practices.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
