Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tulse Hill, South London, to recruit full-time Primary Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 class. This is a long-term role with the strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Information:

• Role: Primary Teaching Assistant (1:1 and Classroom Support)
• Location: Tulse Hill, South London
• Start Date: Immediate
• Salary: £89 – £105 per day (depending on experience)
• Contract: Full-time, long-term (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm)

The Role:

You will be working predominantly on a 1:1 basis, supporting pupils with a variety of needs including mild learning difficulties and those on the Autism Spectrum. Your role will also involve assisting the class teacher with general classroom support, encouraging participation, and helping pupils to access the curriculum fully.

Key areas of support include:

• Speech, language, and communication development
• Managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
• Encouraging classroom engagement and social interaction
• Implementing individual learning plans and intervention strategies

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism and speech & language needs
• A proactive, confident, and empathetic approach
• A strong commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all pupils
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A desire to develop professionally within a supportive school setting
