PRU Learning Support Assistant.

Location – Kingston

Ortus recruitment are looking for a hard-working Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in the Kingston area to work inside a Pupil Referral Unit. The school is looking for somebody who is trying to learn with their amazing staff, you’ll have to use all your skills inside this role to interact with the children in a calm and friendly manner.

These children aren’t able to be placed inside main stream schools because of their behavioural issues, so the candidate who lands this role will have to be able to understand their difficulties and approach teaching them in the correct way. The school has great resources that helps you develop the children’s learning, involve them in exciting activities which also develops their social interactions.

The school.

This school is in the centre of Kingston, with lots of transport routes (bus and train). The staff are very helpful and will make sure that you fit into the environment, they also put the children first all the time making sure that they’re comfortable with their learning. They carry a very high reputation in the local area, so they need to make sure that they get the correct staff to fit their team.

The position.

This is a full-time long term role. You’ll be required to work between the hours of 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday. In this role you’ll be working in a class-room environment, you will be supporting around 6 children in a group making sure that they’re socialising with each other.       

Skills will you need.

An understanding of behavioural difficulties.
To be very friendly and approachable
The ability to create a bond with the children
You will need to be calm and understanding when dealing with the children
The ability to work both 1:1 and in groups.
Great organising skills

Job Details

Salary – £85-£95 per day, paid weekly.
No umbrella costs

Schedule

Monday-Friday.
