About the PRU.

At Ortus recruitment we’re looking for a long-term, full-time candidate who’s ready to embark on a new challenge. This Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) has some of the highest quality resources available, this helps them keep a high standard of learning with their students. The staff are experienced professionals and are ready to introduce a new member of staff into their already brilliant team.

Key Responsibilities.

As a Teaching Assistant you’ll have to….

• Supporting your teacher: As a Teaching Assistant you will have to support your class teacher, this means that you’ll both create activities and help create activities.

• Creating bonds: In this role you’ll need to make sure that you’re creating working relationships with both the staff and the children. This is a school where children have behavioural difficulties so interacting with them is very important.

• Progress Monitoring: Make sure that you’re always keeping up to date with the students you’re working with, interact with parents to make sure that your work is creating a positive impact.

• Inclusion Advocacy: Cultivate an inclusive and respectful environment where all students feel valued and included.

• Group work: You should be able to work with your child both 1:1 and in group activities. Working inside a group will be a struggle as you’re in a similar environment to a classroom.
