Ortus Recruitment are delighted to be working with a warm, welcoming two-form entry primary school in the London Borough of Wandsworth, who are seeking an experienced Reception Class Teacher to join their team from January 2026 until the end of the academic year. The school has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is well-known for its inclusive ethos, supportive leadership team and strong community focus.

Main Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering creative, engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons for Reception pupils
• Assessing, monitoring and reporting on the progress, needs and achievements of pupils
• Effectively utilising and delegating tasks to a classroom Teaching Assistant to support targeted children
• Leading face-to-face parent meetings and maintaining strong communication with families
• Differentiating planning to meet the diverse needs within the class, including supporting pupils with SEND

The School Are Looking For

• A qualified teacher (QTS essential)
• Strong experience teaching within Reception / EYFS
• Someone who can create an engaging and nurturing learning environment
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies
• A teacher with an adaptable, energetic and supportive approach
• Experience supporting children with SEND
