Ortus Recruitment is pleased to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Crystal Palace, who are currently looking to appoint a dedicated Nursery & Reception Classroom Assistant to join their Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young children at the very beginning of their educational journey, working within a nurturing environment that values creativity, care, and early development.

The Role:

As a Nursery & Reception Classroom Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Provide one-to-one and small group assistance, helping children of varying abilities to access learning.
• Contribute to creating a safe, organised, and stimulating classroom environment where all children can thrive.
• Encourage and support the emotional, social, and cognitive development of pupils through positive interactions and meaningful play.
• Assist in preparing learning resources and supporting daily classroom routines.

About You:

The ideal candidate will:

• Have prior experience working with young children in Nursery or Reception settings.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early childhood development.
• Show patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young learners.
• Possess strong communication skills and work effectively as part of a team.
• Hold a relevant childcare or education qualification (desirable but not essential).
