A primary school in Shirley is seeking a Reception SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to children with SEN in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role offers a unique opportunity to help young learners overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
The Role:
As a Reception SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to children with SEN, including those with developmental delays, autism, and communication difficulties. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to Reception students with SEN.
- Assist with adapting lesson plans and activities to meet individual learning needs.
- Support the development of early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Help manage behaviour and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to monitor progress and adjust support as needed.
About You:
- Experience working with SEN students, ideally in an Early Years setting.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies and techniques to support students effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping children succeed.
