Reception Teaching Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and proactive Reception Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic primary school in Battersea. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team, playing a key role in supporting the early development of Reception pupils as they begin their school journey.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to the Reception teacher, helping to create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities that promote children’s social, emotional, and educational development. You will engage with pupils individually and in groups, helping to meet their developmental needs and contributing to an inclusive classroom atmosphere. Building strong relationships with parents and carers is essential, ensuring that every child feels supported both at school and at home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Reception teacher to deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities
- Support the day-to-day needs of pupils, fostering their confidence and love for learning
- Provide individual and group support to ensure each child is progressing
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support each child’s growth
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning resources and activities
Requirements:
- Genuine passion for working with young children in an educational setting
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a supportive school environment
- Enthusiasm for creating an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere
- A flexible, positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Available to work full-time (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
