Ortus Recruitment is looking for a passionate and proactive Reception Teaching Assistant to join a thriving primary school in Wembley, located in the Borough of Brent. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting the development of Reception pupils as they begin their exciting school journey.

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to the class teacher, helping create a positive, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment. You’ll assist in delivering fun and engaging activities designed to promote children’s social, emotional, and academic growth. Whether working with pupils individually or in small groups, your contributions will help build an inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child can thrive. Strong communication with parents and carers will also be a key aspect of this role, ensuring every child feels supported both at school and at home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Reception teacher in delivering interactive and age-appropriate lessons
• Support pupils with daily tasks, building their confidence and passion for learning
• Provide one-to-one and group support to help pupils meet their learning goals
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers to foster strong home-school partnerships
• Assist in the planning and organisation of learning resources and classroom activities

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for working with young children in an educational setting
• Excellent communication skills, both with children and adults
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
• A proactive attitude with a flexible and positive approach to challenges
• Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM– 15:30 PM)
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
