Location: Hampstead, Camden
Hours: Full-Time, Term-Time
Salary: £85 – £100 Daily (PAYE)

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the friendly Reception team in a primary school in Hampstead. This role involves working closely with two children with ASD:

  • Morning: Providing 1:1 support to help a child with ASD engage in learning activities, develop social skills, and adapt to the classroom environment.
  • Afternoon: Supporting a second child with ASD, focusing on their individual needs, learning goals, and emotional well-being.

You will work alongside experienced staff and under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the children in accessing the Early Years curriculum through tailored strategies and activities.
  • Encourage communication, social interaction, and independent learning.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or SEN (desirable but not essential).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
