A welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Clapham is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026. This school is known for nurturing pupils’ emotional wellbeing and academic growth, offering a positive, team-focused environment where staff are encouraged to thrive. The school has a supportive Senior Leadership Team, you will be a positive role model for all pupils within the school and and be a valued member in the team. This role is a full time position, working from 08:30am – 4pm, Monday to Friday.
About the Role:
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
- Build strong, trusting relationships using excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous exposure to behaviour support or similar settings is highly beneficial.
- Training such as Team Teach, MAPA, or PRICE is advantageous but not required.
- Applicants from varied backgrounds—youth work, social care, sports coaching, or education support—are warmly welcomed.
- Ideal role for graduates in Psychology, Education, English, Maths, Science, or related fields who are eager to gain school-based experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience working in a behaviour support or SEN/SEMH role.
- Confidence supporting pupils with autism and emotional/behavioural needs.
- A commitment to a full-time, long-term position.
- Reliability, resilience, and a proactive approach to helping children succeed.
