An inspiring SEMH specialist school in Purley is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with students aged 7–16 who face barriers to learning due to SEMH challenges.
The Role:
This role involves working with pupils to help them overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop skills for a brighter future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs through one-on-one and small group interventions.
- Assist in the delivery of tailored educational and emotional support programmes.
- Use restorative approaches to address behavioural challenges and promote emotional resilience.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a mentor.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to ensure every child’s success.
About You:
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH or similar needs.
- A calm and positive approach, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies.
- Passionate about inclusion and helping young people achieve their potential.
