SEN Teaching Assistant – Speech & Language Focus (Year 1)

Location: Addiscombe, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Do you have a keen interest in language development and SEN support?
A vibrant primary school in Addiscombe is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with speech and language needs. You’ll work closely with speech therapists and teaching staff to deliver structured interventions.

The Role:

• One-to-one and small group support for speech and language development.
• Help implement individual communication plans.
• Use resources such as visual aids, repetition, and articulation games.
• Track and record progress with teacher and SENCO.
• Encourage participation and social interaction in the classroom.

About You:

• Experience or interest in supporting children with communication needs.
• Familiarity with basic speech and language strategies.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Patient, encouraging, and child-focused approach.
