Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant/Learning Mentor to work alongside the Class Teacher in a KS2 resource based class, supporting children with ASD, SLD and SEMH (challenging behaviour). The school is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and they boast a supportive and tight knit staff team.

Must have:

· A clear enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment –£52

· Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a classroom or social setting

Roles and Responsibilities:

· You will be working alongside the Class Teacher to support pupils who have Special Educational Needs – ASD, SLD, SEMH

· You will be supporting children both in groups and individually within the classroom, ensuring that they are following their individualised timetables

· You will have to liaise with the class teacher, SENCO and parents/carers to ensure that they are receiving the necessary support

· You may have to undertake administrative duties such as marking work, photocopying and laminating worksheets

Requirements:

· Experience supporting children with special educational needs in a classroom or social setting

· A strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field, desired not essential

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Patience and resilience
