Role:

• Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant (ASD, SLD, ADHD)
• Pay: £80 – £95 per day PAYE (No hidden agency/umbrella company fees)
• Location: Lewisham, Blackheath
• Role: Full time, Long term (Mon – Fri, 08:30 – 16:00)

ORTUS RECRUITMENT are working alongside a vibrant Mainstream Primary School in the heart of Lewisham, Blackheath. The school are Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’. The school are seeking an experienced SEN Learning Mentor to lead 1:1 and small group interventions to improve academic attainment levels.

The ideal candidate:

• Will have experience working alongside children in a care or school setting
• Will have a strong academic background, educated to Degree level or equivalent
• Will be comfortable leading 1:1 and small group interventions on core subjects (English, Math, Reading, Science) across year 3 – year 6.
• Will be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to helping them develop key life skills
• Will have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment (£52).

Main responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will lead core subject interventions on a 1:1 or small group basis to improve academic attainment levels
• The successful candidate will work alongside the Class Teachers to provide feedback on pupil progress and ensure they are getting the necessary support
• The successful candidate will be required to undertake administrative duties such as marking work and working alongside the class teachers to prepare and hand out additional homework
• The successful candidate will be required to work full time, long term
