SEN Learning Support Mentor | Intervention Lead | Rotherhithe
ORTUS RECRUITMENT are seeking an experienced Learning Support Mentor to join one of our newest Mainstream Primary School clients based in Southwark, Rotherhithe, to Lead 1:1 and small group subject specific interventions with SEN pupils to raise their academic attainment levels.
The role:
- Position: Learning Support Mentor, 1:1 and Small Group work
- Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE
- Location: Rotherhithe
- Role: Full Time, Long Term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)
Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside SEN pupils across Year 1 – Year 6. You will be required to lead interventions in core subjects (English, Math, Reading, Phonics). You will be required to work alongside the class teachers in order to prepare differentiated work to suit each individual learners needs. You will be required to liaise with Teachers, Parents/Carers and Professionals to ensure the pupils are receiving the necessary support and guidance. One of your main responsibilities will be to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working alongside children/young people with Special Educational Needs in a school, care or social setting
- A strong academic background, educated to degree level (Desired, not essential), strong knowledge in core subjects (English, Math, Reading, Phonics)
- A natural passion for working alongside pupils with SEN and helping them to develop life skills (Social, emotional, mental)
- A kind and nurturing nature
- A clear enhanced Child Workforce DBS, or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment (£52).
