A welcoming primary school in Croydon is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception student with ASC, helping them develop essential communication and social skills.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one support for a Reception student with ASC, helping them navigate daily routines.
• Use visual timetables, social stories, and structured learning approaches to aid engagement.
• Implement speech and communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton.
• Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to follow an EHCP.
• Support sensory and play-based learning to help the student develop social interaction skills.

About You:

• Experience working with young children with autism is desirable.
• Understanding of sensory processing difficulties and communication tools.
• A patient, empathetic, and engaging approach to SEN support.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
