A specialist SEN school in Croydon is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autism spectrum condition (ASC). This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children with high-support needs.

The Role:

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide a supportive and structured environment for pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with PMLD and ASC in a sensory-based learning environment.
• Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support (training provided).
• Implement communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices.
• Help create and adapt resources to engage learners with varied needs.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and SEN specialists.

About You:

• Experience working with children with PMLD, ASC, or complex needs is desirable.
• A compassionate and proactive approach to SEN education.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and therapy-based interventions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
