Are you passionate about supporting children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)?
A fantastic SEN school in Thornton Heath is looking for a nurturing and patient Teaching Assistant to provide essential care and learning support for KS1 pupils with complex medical and learning needs.

The Role:

You will assist students with a range of additional needs, including physical disabilities, communication challenges, and sensory impairments, ensuring they have access to a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care support, including feeding and toileting (training provided).
• Use sensory-based learning techniques to engage students.
• Assist in therapy sessions, including physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
• Support students with communication development (PECS, Makaton, AAC devices).
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure individual needs are met.

About You:

• Experience working with children with PMLD or complex medical needs is desirable.
• A patient, caring, and empathetic nature.
• Understanding of sensory processing and assistive communication methods.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow care plans.
