Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

Do you have the confidence and resilience to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
A specialist SEN school in Thornton Heath is seeking a proactive and patient Teaching Assistant to support KS2 students with SEMH needs, including anxiety, ADHD, and trauma-related behaviours.
The Role:
You will support students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them develop self-regulation and positive coping strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom and one-to-one support for students with SEMH needs.
- Implement de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies.
- Encourage students to engage positively with learning and social activities.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to support student progress.
- Help students develop emotional regulation and resilience.
About You:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to behaviour support.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow behaviour management plans.
