SEN TA – SEMH Support (Y6)

Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
A primary school in Thornton Heath is looking for a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs, helping them manage emotions and develop positive learning behaviours.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one support for a Year 6 child with SEMH needs.
  • Implement strategies to manage emotional regulation and classroom behaviour.
  • Support learning through positive reinforcement and structured routines.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external professionals.
  • Encourage confidence and engagement in both academic and social settings.

About You:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques.
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to SEN support.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
