Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
A supportive primary school in Croydon is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 4 student who requires additional support with emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 student with SEMH needs, helping them with emotional regulation.
- Use de-escalation strategies and positive reinforcement to encourage participation.
- Assist in structured interventions to develop social skills and resilience.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement tailored support strategies.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment to help the student thrive academically and socially.
About You:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to behaviour support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Training in de-escalation techniques or trauma-informed approaches is a bonus.
