SEN TA – SEMH Support (Year 6)

Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: Immediate Start

Do you have experience supporting children with SEMH needs?
A primary school in Thornton Heath is looking for a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs, helping them build confidence and develop coping strategies.

The Role:

  • Provide tailored support to a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Support the pupil’s engagement in lessons and social development.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists.
  • Encourage resilience and self-confidence.

About You:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural challenges.
  • Understanding of emotional regulation techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
