A nurturing primary school in Croydon is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 student with speech and language delays, helping them develop communication skills and confidence in the classroom.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one support to a Year 1 student with speech and language needs.
• Implement speech therapy exercises under the guidance of a Speech and Language Therapist (SALT).
• Use communication aids such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables.
• Support classroom learning and encourage verbal participation.
• Work closely with teachers and therapists to track progress.

About You:

• Experience supporting children with speech and language difficulties is desirable.
• Understanding of communication strategies such as Makaton or PECS.
• A patient, engaging, and positive approach to SEN support.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
