SEN Teaching Assistant | 1:1 | Brent | £85 – £105 Daily (PAYE)
The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. You will play a key role in helping them develop their personalities and minds by exposing them to ideas and experiences that will help them gain a solid grounding in the world.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for development to thrive and children to learn, play and grow. You will lead phonics and reading interventions in small groups to raise attainment, liaise with parents/carers, manage behaviour in the classroom, supervise playtime and organise the classroom. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of early childhood education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to providing quality services to our students.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide care and supervision in a safe and nurturing environment
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and daily activities
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Ensure the health and safety of all children in your care
Role Requirements:
- Minimum qualifications: GCSE level (including maths and English)
- Previous experience working with EYFS
- Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children
