SEN Teaching Assistant
We are seeking to recruit an energetic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at an outstanding Independent Special School for students aged 4-11 with mild to moderate, complex learning needs. The successful candidate will be joining a passionate and supportive team dedicated to providing the best educational support possible for children with Special Educational Needs. You will be working in close partnership with our teachers, therapists, other teaching assistants, and parents.
Working Hours
- 8.00 – 16.30, Monday to Friday, term-time only (ca. 40 weeks a year)
Responsibilities
- Assist teaching staff to plan and prepare lessons and resources within the school curriculum.
- Make and prepare resources for teaching and therapy staff.
- Reinforce targets throughout the school day.
- Support students both within the class and during unstructured situations.
- Support the teaching and therapy staff to maintain detailed case notes of all children seen.
- Produce and maintain up-to-date pupils’ profiles and behaviour plans.
- Follow school procedures in reporting incidents and safeguarding concerns.
- Act as a resource and support for other staff members working with the children.
- Participate in supervision and support as required.
- Maintain continuous professional development.
