JOB TYPE: Full-time Long-Term (Monday to Friday)

SALARY: £85.00 – £105.00

Are you a motivated and kind person who has worked with special education needs before? Do you genuinely want to assist kids in a learning environment? An SEN teaching assistant is needed by Ortus Recruitment to support the head teacher and the kids all day long. The selected candidate will possess excellent social awareness, patience, and communication abilities.

Your Duties:

• Aiding the head teacher with setting ups the classroom as well as cleaning it.
• Supporting the head teacher with planning daily activities.
• Mainly support the SEN children and give then your full attention throughout the day.
• Work 1:1 with children and small groups to help them learn.
• Admin activities such as photocopying, filing, displaying work, recording and reporting important notes.  
• Build relationships with the parents of the children to ensure good communication and a warm environment.   
• Looks after the children’s health, safety, and wellbeing and making sure all harmful tools are kept at a distance from the children.
• Report back to head teacher regarding anything to do with the children, but take initiative in solving problems as well.

Requirements:

• Experience and comfortability working with SEN children
• Able to make good connections with teachers, children and parents.
• Sensitivity, patience and dedication when it comes to supporting the children.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing environments and difficult situations.
