Salary: £85 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

Ortus Recruitment are searching for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to start ASAP, working full-time in one of our partnered primary schools in Wandsworth.

In the education/special needs sector, this is an excellent chance for you to help the school care for and support primary students with a variety of special needs and behavioural difficulties.

It is preferred that you have experience working with children/young people with learning difficulties.

What you would be doing:

• 1:1 support with SEN children as well as any other child that requires special attention.
• Group Support sessions with students to help them engage with the class activities and get an understanding of how they are feeling and finding the daily tasks.
• Helping the head teacher with setting up, planning daily activities and cleaning the classroom at the end of the day.
• Communicating with the head teacher on a regular basis regarding the children and your duties.
• Create and maintain good relationships with the children and the parents to ensure a warm and kind environment for everyone.

You are required to:

• Have previous experience working with children (preferably in a primary school)
• Have previous experience working with SEN children.
• Have experience doing 1:1 sessions with SEN children.
• Be committed to working with children with special educational needs.
• Be flexible and adaptable in difficult situations.
• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when it comes to the children.
• Have an energetic, bubbly, and kind personality.
