About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your role will involve working with students both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them overcome emotional challenges, regulate their behaviour, and engage with their learning. You will play an essential part in ensuring that each student is given the tools they need to succeed in a safe, positive, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting emotional regulation, social interaction, and academic progress.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of strategies that help students manage emotions and stay focused in class.
- Collaborate with class teachers to adapt lesson plans and ensure all learning activities are accessible and engaging.
- Work closely with the SEN team to monitor and update Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Foster a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe and motivated to learn.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs, ideally in a school or similar educational setting.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s emotional and educational development.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- A current DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and making a lasting impact on their lives.
