Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Special Focus: Supporting children with Autism and ADHD
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for children with Autism and ADHD. You’ll work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support children’s academic, emotional, and social development.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support tailored to individual needs.
- Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies.
- Foster a calm and structured environment to enhance learning outcomes.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to adapt materials and activities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, or other SEN (desirable but not essential).
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- A proactive and flexible approach to challenges.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, a degree in Education, or similar) are an advantage but not mandatory.
