About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to work 1:1 with a child in Year 1 who has autism. You will play a key role in supporting their academic, social, and emotional development while ensuring they feel safe and confident in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to meet the child’s specific needs.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement the child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
• Use a range of strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
• Foster the child’s social interaction and communication skills.
• Monitor and record progress, sharing updates with the school team and parents.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs (SEN).
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
• Can adapt strategies to suit individual learning styles.
• Is an excellent communicator and a team player.
• Holds relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) – desirable but not essential.
