SEN Teaching Assistant

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support to a child in Year 3 with Autism, working closely with the class teacher to enhance the learning experience. The school’s senior leadership team is both supportive and welcoming, fostering a positive and growth-oriented environment for both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one support to children, particularly those with Autism
  • Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
  • Supporting the class as needed to ensure effective learning
  • Supervising children during break times
  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours
  • Building strong relationships with parents and carers
  • Monitoring and documenting the progress of children

Essential Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, or similar conditions
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards working with young children
  • Ability to monitor and assess children’s progress
  • A strong understanding of child safeguarding
  • A caring, energetic, and proactive approach to supporting children
