SEN Teaching Assistant
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

We are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant at a highly regarded primary school in Wandsworth. This role is ideal for those with a genuine interest in supporting children with Autism and Speech and Language needs.
The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support to a child in Year 3 with Autism, working closely with the class teacher to enhance the learning experience. The school’s senior leadership team is both supportive and welcoming, fostering a positive and growth-oriented environment for both staff and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one support to children, particularly those with Autism
- Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
- Supporting the class as needed to ensure effective learning
- Supervising children during break times
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours
- Building strong relationships with parents and carers
- Monitoring and documenting the progress of children

Essential Requirements:
- A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs
- Previous experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, or similar conditions
- Enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards working with young children
- Ability to monitor and assess children’s progress
- A strong understanding of child safeguarding
- A caring, energetic, and proactive approach to supporting children
