SEN Teaching Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is partnering with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Tulse Hill to recruit a dedicated and professional Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual to make a significant difference in the lives of young learners, working within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- One-to-One Support: Provide tailored, individual support for students with SEN across the school, ensuring their academic and personal development.
- Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with the Class Teacher and SENCO to assist with the delivery of the curriculum, promoting student engagement, and supporting their wellbeing in the classroom.
- Supervision and Monitoring: Ensure students are fully supported in achieving their potential by observing and tracking their progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate.
- Behaviour Management: Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment, acting as a role model for students and promoting good behaviour and respectful conduct within the classroom and school grounds.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience working with young people or students with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable, particularly in a school environment.
- Adaptability: The ability to respond flexibly to the individual needs of students, adapting approaches as required to ensure their success.
- Collaboration: A team-oriented approach, working closely with the SENCO, Class Teacher, and other teaching assistants to deliver high-quality support.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents alike.
