SEN Teaching Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a nurturing and forward-thinking mainstream primary school in Kennington, who are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 1 with ADHD and challenging behaviour.This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting young learners who require consistent encouragement and structure to thrive in a classroom setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering personalised interventions and helping the child access learning in a positive and supportive environment.
Role Overview:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a child in Year 1 with additional behavioural needs
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo, and pastoral team to follow behaviour management strategies
- Support emotional regulation and engagement through structured routines and targeted interventions
- Assist with classroom integration, helping to build confidence and independence
We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ADHD or behavioural needs
- A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to individual needs
- Relevant experience in a school or youth-focused setting is highly desirable
