SEN Teaching Assistant | Full-time Monday to Friday (8:30am–4pm) | Dulwich | £90–£105 per day PAYE | Start After Easter

Ortus Recruitment is partnering with mainstream and SEN specialist schools in Dulwich to find a committed Teaching Assistant who is happy working 1:1 with SEN pupils, supporting small groups, or as a general classroom TA. We’ll match you to the right school and setting based on your experience.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant you will:
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with special educational needs, building trust and helping them access learning in a way that works for them
- Support small group interventions and assist the class teacher with planning, delivery and resources
- Help create an inclusive, stimulating and safe classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
- Support children’s emotional, social and academic development throughout the school day
Placements are available in both mainstream primary schools and SEN specialist schools — so whether you have experience across complex needs, SEMH, autism or general learning difficulties, we want to hear from you.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working 1:1 or in groups with children in a school or childcare setting
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities
- A genuine passion for the wellbeing and development of children
- Flexibility and resilience when navigating challenging behaviours
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Patience, empathy and calm problem-solving under pressure
