ORTUS RECRUITMENT are working alongside a vibrant Ofsted rated ‘Good’ mainstream primary school, located in the London borough of Southwark. The school are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their fast growing staff team.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Will have experience supporting people with Special Educational Needs in a care, school or social setting
• Will be passionate about working alongside SEN children and dedicated to helping them develop social and emotional skills
• Will have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable, not essential)
• Will have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment (£52)
• Will be able to reliably commute to Bermondsey  
• Will be able to work Full time, Long term (Mon – Fri, 08:30 – 16:00)

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a small resource based year 5 class. The class has 6 pupils, all of which have special educational needs (ASD, SLD, ADHD). Along with the class teacher, and other members of support staff in the class, you will be responsible for helping the learners develop academic, emotional, social and mental skills through a range of games and activities that have been prepared by the SENCO and other professional figures within the school (Therapists etc.).
