SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT | CROYDON
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Croydon Borough. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with special needs, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities. The role will focus on supporting students in the classroom and working with small groups of students to provide additional support and reinforcement of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting teachers in the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons for students with special needs
- Working with small groups of students to provide additional support and reinforcement of learning
- Supporting students with special needs, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities, in the classroom and with individual support
- Supporting teachers in the assessment and tracking of student progress, particularly for students with special needs
- Providing support for extracurricular activities, as required
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students, specifically for those with special needs
- Collaborating with other professionals and parents to ensure that the needs of students with special needs are met.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
- Proven experience working with students with special needs, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A commitment to ongoing professional development
- A positive and flexible approach to work
- A strong understanding of SEN and the ability to implement strategies that support students with special needs
