Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering inclusive lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the attention they require.
- Promote an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Help manage and maintain classroom resources and materials.
- Monitor and report on students’ progress and well-being.
- Collaborate with the school’s SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is preferred but not essential.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and empathy when working with students.
- Knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies for supporting them.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) is a plus.
- DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
